Hex
A classic connection game on a rhombus-shaped hex grid.
Rules
-
Two players take turns placing stones on empty hexagonal cells.
-
Red connects top to bottom. Blue connects left to right.
-
The first player to create an unbroken chain connecting their two sides wins.
-
Draws are impossible — someone always wins (mathematically proven).
Swap Rule
If enabled, after the first player places their opening stone, the second player may choose to swap — taking that stone as their own instead of placing a new one. This balances first-player advantage.
Strategy
-
Control the center — it gives you more connection options.
-
Build bridges — two stones separated by one hex can often be connected regardless of opponent’s play.
-
Look for double threats — force your opponent to block in two directions at once.
